Autograph sketchleaf for the Missa solemnis containing drafts for the Sanctus and Benedictus. The recto contains a passage in paino score of modulatory material in D major, followed by a long imitative passage in D, a setting of the Sanctus; other material relates to a seeting of “Pleni sunt coeli ... the second half of the page is marked by Beethoven in pencil “2te Theil Benedictus.” no place or date [Vienna, ca. 1820-1821]. Notated in borwn ink and pencil (silverpoint) on sixteen-stave paper, annotated in another hand “No 13” and “Skizze zum Sanctus der 2tes Messe im 3/4 Takte ... Idee zum Benedictus.” 2 pages, oblong folio, small repairs to margins a few minor tears in upper margins.
