Duplicate Removal Project

In an effort to make library shelves easier for patrons to access and navigate, the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Library has been working on a project to remove selected duplicate copies of books from the collection. Lists of duplicate materials in each call number section have been reviewed and approved by appropriate faculty liaisons. At least one copy of each item still remains in the library - only titles with more than one copy were reviewed and eligible for discard. Different editions of the same title were not considered duplicate copies. Books approved for discard have been removed from the shelf and placed in a storage area on the Lower Level of the library.

At this time faculty are invited to take withdrawn books to add to their own personal libraries. Books are still being pulled from the shelves so the stock of available books will change daily. Books will be available for faculty to take until Sunday June 30, 2013.

If you would like to see what has been removed from the shelves and take items home with you, go to the Periodicals Desk on the Lower Level with your faculty ID during regular library hours. Periodicals Staff will show you where the withdrawn books are being stored.

Please note: we will not be providing boxes, bags or carts so be sure to bring reusable bags to take home your selections.

The list of call numbers below will be updated weekly to reflect what sections are available.

All call number sections have been completed.
