Customer Conduct Policy Enforcement

Violation of the Library’s Customer Conduct Policy may call for suspension of Library privileges. The following guidelines shall be used in determining the length of suspension.

Behavior Suspension guidelines
First offense Second offense  Third offense
Disruptive or unsafe conduct Correct behavior or leave for the day Leave for the day  1 week 
Failure to comply with reasonable staff request Leave for the day 1 week 1 month
Impeding others' access to library use 2 weeks 1 month 3 months
Possession of drug paraphernalia 1 month 2 months 3 months
Property damage 1 month 2 months 3 months
Theft 1 month 2 months 3 months
Trespassing 1 month 2 months 3 months
Under the influence of alcohol or other substance 1 month 2 months 3 months
Vandalism 1 month 2 months 3 months
Possession of weapons 3 months 6 months 1 year
Verbal threats or abuse 3 months 6 months 1 year
Battery 6 months to 1 year (depending on severity) 1 year 2 years
Illegal substances 6 months 1 year 2 years
Lewd conduct 6 months to 1 year (depending on severity) 1 year 2 years
Physical threats 6 months 1 year 2 years
