The Advising Hub

The Advising Hub is meant to serve as a resource for all undergraduate students to aid in student success. As the name suggests, it's at the center of many advising and academic support services available at SJSU. This site can be used to locate and access the information and people you need to help you progress smoothly to your degree objective.

Graduate Advising

Current SJSU Graduate students are encouraged to use Graduate Programs for more information regarding their specific Graduate programs along with their respective advisors.

Spartan Connect

Spartan Connect facilitates early identification of students who may need additional support and allows for timely intervention critical to assisting our students on their path to graduation. Spartan Connect also serves as a central data collection point for student data related to student success. Spartan Connect is SJSU’s name for EAB's Navigate platform. This tool is produced by EAB (Educational Advisory Board).

Writing Center

The San José State University Writing Center offers a variety of resources to help students become better writers, and all of our services are free for SJSU students. It's difficult enough being a college student, so why let a writing assignment add to your stress? The Center's mission is to enhance the writing skills of SJSU students so they can communicate clearly in any setting (informal, academic, or professional). They create original writing resources, offer workshops, and conduct one-on-one tutoring sessions.

Peer Connections

Peer Connections supports students through tutoring, mentoring, supplemental instruction, learning assistants, and student success events in an inclusive, welcoming environment. It serves as a university-wide resource for the promotion of peer learning and retention. Peer Connections is committed to educating, retaining, and graduating students by assisting them in their holistic development at San José State University. The team empowers students to become self-directed learners and active global citizens.

Matriculating students who have experienced an unforeseen economic crisis should reach out to find out how we could assist. In addition, they provide services such as clinical case management and outreach presentations for students, student groups, staff, and faculty; consultations on issues of basic needs, student mental health, and campus climate; and professional training, teaching, and supervision for future mental health personnel, consistent with the educational mission of the University.
