Digital Inclusion Hotspot Program Canvas Course Outline
This course will help students build their digital toolbox to make them successful at SJSU and as a professionals entering the field. Students could pick and choose which modules and activities they would like to participate in. All students are required to complete the Orientation Library Session in person or virtually.
Course Agenda
Orientation Module:
This module was required for only those who could not attend a 60-minute in-person or virtual orientation library session.
By the end of this module, students will have completed the following objectives:
Getting to know the library's online resources
Discussion Questions: What does having access to wifi and/or technology mean to you?
This module aims to introduce students to some of SJSU Library's online resources, especially at the beginning of the semester. Students will also gain a raffle ticket for completing this module.
By the end of the module, students will be able to:
1. Learn strategies to save on textbooks and locate the libraries eTextbook list.
2. Learn how to find subject-specific research guides.
Enhance Your Technology Skills
Discussion Question: Do you consider yourself to be tech-savvy? If you were to add technology skills to your resume, which skills would you include?
The purpose of this module is to enhance student technology skills @SJSU Library.
By the end of the module, participants will be able to:
1. Become aware of library services, such as the Student Technology Training Center, that can help you build your technology skills.
2. Get the help you need using late-night tutoring.
3. Get to know the student computer services center and what technology you can borrow from the library.
Enhance Your Technology Skills using Adobe Creative Cloud Express.
The Library Student Technology Training Center is dedicated to providing software training and support to all SJSU students. We provide classes, open lab hours, consultations, and web help in a variety of formats to assist users in learning software used in classrooms.
Adobe Creative Cloud Express is a software program that students might find helpful navigating through school. One of the many free software packages available to SJSU students is Adobe Creative Cloud Express. It's a cloud-based media creation tool that lets anyone create eye-catching posters, social media graphics, films, and single-page websites in minutes. One of its biggest benefits is that it can be accessed from any device with internet access.
This module aims to enhance your technology skills in using Adobe Creative Cloud Express.
By the end of the module, participants will be able to:
1. How to use Adobe Creative Cloud Express
2. How to create a flyer
Academic Support Late Night Tutoring
The Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Library offered free Late-Night Tutoring for all SJSU students.
The purpose of this module is to provide SJSU students with information on the Library Late Night Tutoring program.

SJSU MLK Library Prototype Lab
The purpose of this module is to introduce students to the Library Prototype lab.
Students have access to a variety of equipment and workshops for the development of fabrication skills and design in our prototype lab, including 3D printing, laser cutting, vinyl cutter, use of a sewing machine and other fabrication equipment.
