Specialized tools for citation network analysis
These tools are designed to make CNA efficient and straightforward. In particular, they offer the ability to import bibliographic and citation data from databases and APIs. These tools were created by the Centre for Science and Technology Studies at Leiden University.

CitNetExplorerFree software for analyzing citation patterns and networks. Supports import from Web of Science and very large networks of publications. Available for Windows and other systems that run Java.
General network analysis tools
These tools allow the user to perform network analysis by importing data. They are not designed specifically for CNA, but are general-purpose tools for performing network analysis in any domain.
