AEA uses the JEL classification system and controlled vocabulary of keywords to index six types of records: journal articles, books, collective volume articles, dissertations, working papers and full-text book reviews from the Journal of Economic Literature. Citations and abstracts date back to 1886.

Researching Your Country
Sometimes the country reports mentioned under the Country Information tab will not give you some of the specific information you need. When that happens, try searching for articles in the databases on the side navigator under < Company Info & Articles > tab.
To find articles on the banking crisis in Spain, for example, open a database and enter "Spain" in the first search box and "banking crisis" in the second search box. (When you are searching on a phrase like "banking crisis, " be sure to put quotes around it.)
