Some websites, including YouTube, Wiley, and Elsevier, are now blocking our Cite it! functionality. After exploring solutions, we’ve determined that replacing the current bookmarklet with a browser extension is the only fix. Developing this extension is a significant effort, but it’s our top priority.

We estimate a Chrome extension will be ready in Q1 2025, with Edge and Firefox versions to follow. While this has been a long-standing request, we’re excited to deliver an improved tool for harvesting website data.

Adding Online Resources with Cite It! (New UI)

  • LCM offers a browser tool called Cite It! that allows you to add resources from external websites directly to your list.
  • Install the Cite It! bookmarklet from the User menu (next to your name in the upper-right corner).
  • Navigate to an external webpage (e.g., an article, a video, or an eBook) and click on the Cite It! bookmarklet. You’ll be able to edit the citation details and choose which reading list and section to add the item to.
