Library Course Materials by Leganto — New UI Features!

New Features and Updates

1. Quick Start Screen:

  • Visible via LMS LTI: When accessing through the Learning Management System (LMS), a simplified, cleaner start screen is presented.
  • Two Main Options: Instructors can choose to either:
  • This clearer design helps streamline the process, reducing confusion for new users.

2. Creating a New List & “Link to Course”:

  • Improved Design: The new Create a New List screen is more user-friendly. A major improvement is the ability to associate a course right from the start using the Link to course feature.
  • This update solves a common issue where users would forget to link the list to a course, improving workflow efficiency.

3. Look of the New UI:

  • Color and Layout Changes: The New UI features an updated color scheme, with key buttons and menus shifted for better usability.
  • The Add Items button has moved from the right to the left, and the right-side panel is minimized by default, offering a cleaner, more focused interface.

4. Managing Collaborators:

  • New Location: The Manage Collaborators option has moved from the right of the screen, and is now within what's called the List Info section at the top.
  • New Roles: When adding collaborators, you can now specify their role (e.g., Owner or Editor) with a new dropdown option, offering more granular control over list management.

5. Course Reserves- Adding Items to a List:

  • Familiar Workflow: The process for Adding Items remains largely unchanged, with the Add button still offering options to Search the Library or upload resources.
  • Users can search, add items to favorites or suggestions, and easily add them to the list as before, maintaining a familiar workflow in the updated design.

6. Labeling Changes:

  • Simplified Terminology: ExLibris made intentional verbiage changes to make the platform more intuitive:
    • "Being Prepared" has been replaced by "Draft" for lists that haven’t been submitted for review.
    • "Sent" status is now "Library Processing" to clarify when lists are under review by the library.

7. My List is Ready - Publishing Lists:

  • New Workflow: The older buttons for Library Review and Publish List Now have been consolidated into a single My List is Ready button.
  • After clicking this, instructors can publish the list and select who can view it, with a new animated feedback message confirming the action.

8. Roll Over to Duplicate List:

  • Terminology Update: The feature previously called Roll Over is now labeled Duplicate List. This makes it clearer that the process involves creating a copy of a previous reading list for use in a new course or semester.
