Welcome to SJSU Course Reserves! Search for course material above using your professor's last name or your course name and number.
Write down the call number for the item you want and take it to the circulation desk to have someone get it for you. Materials must be returned to the SJSU Library course reserves desk.
If you do not find an item on course reserve, this means it has not been requested by the professor or has not been processed yet. Electronic reserves are located in Canvas.
Public library patrons with a OneSearch account can borrow University Library-owned materials on Course Reserves, but do not have access to instructors' personal materials.
Most items can be checked out for 2 hours, but there are some that can be checked out for up to 3 days; loan periods are set by the professor. Consult your checkout receipt for the proper return time.
Late Fees & Fines
Fines for reserve items are:
- Two-hour and one-day loans: $1.00 per hour to a maximum of $20.00 per item
- Three-day loans: $5.00 per day to a maximum of $20.00 per item
Reserve fines accrue even when the library is closed. On holidays, however, fines will not accrue.
Holds & Renewals
Course Reserves material is available on a first-come, first-served basis and cannot be renewed. If you wish to continue using an item after it is due, you must wait at least 15 minutes before checking out the material again in order to give other users access to the material.
For information on placing items in Course Reserves, see Information for Instructors.
