Created in 2001, the Africana, Asian American, Chicano, & Native American Studies Center is made up of four collections that support academic programs at San José State University. Each collection is supported by its respective Resource Center Advisory Committee. Located on the fifth floor of the King Library, the Center aims to provide a visible identity for historically underrepresented groups with a location where students, faculty, and others can access materials to support instruction and research and where students, faculty, staff, and members of the community can convene for events related to the mission of the center. The endowment supports overall programming for the Center.
