Comments:
I was motivated to assign my students online readings because I couldn't find a satisfactory textbook. I do list a textbook in my suggested readings for those students who might prefer one, but I don't require it, which saves my students over $100 a semester. Assigning students articles to read also teaches them to use the library databases and locate primary research, skills that they need to complete their degrees and will continue to use in their careers.
