What is Paraphrasing?
Paraphrasing means to take someone else's words or ideas and express them in your own words. This can be tricky to do. Here's one way to approach it:
1. Read the information.
2. Take notes on the ideas that support your thesis statement and that you want to use in your paper.
3. Re-read your notes and make sure you understand what the author meant. If you're having a hard time paraphrasing, you might need to read the information again.
4. Write it down in your own words.
5. Be sure to cite the original author.
