The Internet Archive is a nonprofit digital library that archives web pages. To use its Wayback Machine, enter the URL of the site you are looking for. It will search for that address and display the page, if it is available.

This site first harvested Federal Government web pages in 2008 at the end of the Bush administration and continues to ensure government information is accessible to the public.

The Data Rescue Tracker is a collaborative tool built to catalog existing public data rescue efforts. On this page, you can find what data backups exist.

You can add to the Internet Archive by copying and pasting the URL of the web page you would like to save.

Developed by the Harvard Law School Library, Perma.cc archives web pages and makes them easily retrievable. SJSU has a institutional license for Perma.cc. To be added, send your request to ann.agee@sjsu.edu.

The goal of the Data Rescue Project is to "serve as a clearinghouse for data rescue-related efforts and data access points for public US governmental data that are currently at risk. " They are always looking for volunteers at every skill level.
