Finding Books and Articles on Health Disparities
Finding books and articles on health disparities research is a little more complicated than your standard health topic search, due to a lack of standardization in search terms. Here are some search terms to try in OneSearch, PubMed, and CINAHL.

Think like a health disparities researcher. What terms would a researcher most likely use? For example, Latinx is increasingly used in health research, even if the topic isn't specific to LGBTQ+. But if the research is conducted by someone trained in Queer Studies, Anthropology, Medical Humanities, etc. they might prefer to use more specific terms, e.g. Mexican American,Ecuadoran, etc.

You can find articles with statistics and data by using search terms related to epidemiology. For example, try one of the terms below:

The report presents, in chart form, the latest available findings on quality of and access to healthcare, as well as disparities related to race and ethnicity, income, and other social determinants of health.
