MIT Open Courseware Engineering Systems DivisionA large selection of MIT courses in the area of Engineering Systems, where "students aim to solve complex sociotechnical problems by integrating approaches based on engineering, management, and social sciences—using new framing and modeling methodologies." A few undergraduate courses, but mainly graduate-level.

So, What is it that Engineers Do, Anyway?"In this case study, new engineering students are introduced to the discipline of engineering by illustrating the roles of various types of engineers in a large engineering project, the intelligent transportation system, that has the potential to impact many aspects of society. This case is designed to be used in a freshman introduction to engineering course, in which students are typically introduced to a variety of concepts across engineering disciplines."

Student Design Project"This course involves the stages, principles, and requisites of product design, and incorporates skills acquired in lower-level engineering courses. This course discusses, among other topics, project management using Gantt charts and other time management tools, various design codes and standards that engineers should be aware of while designing, including acceptable drawing standards, safety requirements, regulations, and so forth. This free course may be completed online at any time."

Automating Manufacturing Systems; with PLCs"Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) are the predominant tool for controlling industrial and specialty systems. These computer based controllers provide a variety of programming options and easily configurable inputs and outputs. This book was written to support an engineering course that focuses on the design of these systems. For the purposes of depth the book focuses on a very popular PLC brand, Allen-Bradley, but the concepts are portable to other programming platforms."
