Book Talking
A booktalk is a 2 - 7 minute presentation aimed at convincing an audience to read a book. Traditionally conducted in classrooms by teachers and librarians, they can also be performed in other settings and as outreach. Booktalks are not reviews, reports or analysis. Booktalkers give the audience a sketch of the setting, plot and characters while establishing a "hook" with the aim of making the audience care enough to want to read the book.
