Criticism for children's literature encompasses many theories, topics and approaches. Below is a partial listing of critical resources available through the King Library. They are a good place to start defining and narrowing your research topic.
1. Start by looking up and/or browsing literary theories in the resources listed in the box to the right.
2. Select theories of interest.
3. Review the tutorial on performing a Subject Search in the King catalog. Link provided below.
4. Search the King catalog by Subject for more books on that theory.
5. You may also opt to scan the bibliographies of the resources listed in the box to the left.
6. When you locate a relevant source, search for it by Title in the King Library catalog. If the library does not have a copy, request it through Link+ or Interlibrary Loan (ILLiad). See tutorials below for how.
