LibGuides How-To Guide

Best practices for creating and maintaining LibGuides

Adding an Image

Arch of Dignity, Equality, & Justic

1. Alternative Text: Include a brief description of the image

2. Constrain Proportions: Make sure the lock is closed so your image has the correct proportions!

3. HSpace and VSpace: These will add space (in pixels) to the sides and top and bottom of an image, respectively. This is helpful when an image is left- or right-aligned to ensure space between the image and the text.

4. Alignment: Left and right alignment will place the image to the left or right of the text, respectively. If it's set to <not set>, the image will be on a line by itself.
