Message from the Dean
I am honored to welcome you to San José State University's Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Library. The library's purpose is to support the research and educational mission of the University. This is achieved through maintaining high-quality information resources, special collections, and archives in multiple formats, and through the collaboration among librarians, teaching faculty, and students. Our collaboration includes supporting students and faculty throughout the entire research cycle, from the formulation of topics to the publication and dissemination of the results and conclusions.
The King Library also serves as a physical space specifically designed for inspiration and collaboration, incorporating work and study areas, collections, interactive technologies, and other services, along with breathtaking views of downtown San José and the University campus.
Research strongly suggests that students who use the library are more likely to get better grades and graduate earlier than those who do not, and faculty often report that their research is improved when they collaborate with librarians.
