Lock of Beethoven's hair

Lock of Beethoven's hair, framed and glazed, previously owned by Anselm Hüttenbrenner, taken from Beethoven on his deathbed. Hair strands with follicles, in framc (ca. 25 x 30 cm.), with a 2-p. autograph note of authentication signed by Ludwig Carl Seydler (to whom Hüttenbrenner gave the lock),dated May 5, 1881, attached to the lock by a green thread and contained behind the frame's removable back, and a note of authentication by Seydler's son, Anton, with his stamp on the back of the frame.
